Located east of the Champagne War Front, at the junction of the Argonne War Front, the Main de Massiges represented a strategic point on the Champagne front during the Battle of the Marne in 1915. A veritable natural fortress, all of this chalky tray consists of several high points resembling a left hand.
The whole of the galleries, updated and maintained by the association La Main de Massiges, makes it a high place of tourism of memory and archeology of the Great War.
