Châlons-en-Champagne … An evocative name for a world famous beverage. Related to celebrations, major events and quality, it is produced only in our region, La Champagne.
A sparking city…
The Joseph Perrier Champagne House, the unique champagne House in Châlons welcomes you to its historic « crayères » that are over 2000 years old.
Their peculiarity? These cellars are on one level as they’re sheltered below the hill overlooking the house and protected by their arboretum, which acts as a natural climate regulator. As a result, there is not a step down to discover the most guarded secrets of champagne with our experts.
The cellars stretch for almost three kilometers their Gallo-Roman architecture. Irrigated by skylights, they enjoy optimal natural ventilation. Bottles on laths and racks are preserved near the assembly tubs and dressing areas. And of course, tasting is not required… but highly recommended! After 2 years of renovation, the Joseph Perrier Cellars reopen their doors and welcome you for a dazzling visit!
The Champagne Famille Carbot Museum welcomes you in a listed building, in the heart of Châlons-en-Champagne for a trip back in time! We go from the bottom of the Baltic Sea to the tasting room, crossing the Champagne region and the oenological space. A visit to the “Secrets des Bulles” museum guarantees a festive experience, a different alternative to discover champagne and the champagne region. A great tourist discovery.
