Bateau d'Argile et d'Eau

CHALONS-EN-CHAMPAGNE

Description

From 2000 to 2005, "d'Argile et d'Eau" (that you can translate to "from clay and water") was a workshop-boat that sailed the waterways between Paris and Belgium for the activity of Francis Dumelié, its owner, who was a potter.

A year after his retirement in 2006, he converted the boat into an out of the ordinary bed and breakfast in Mareul-sur-Ay in Champagne then in St Jean de Losne and finally in Melay in Brionnais. Since May 2018, "d'Argile et d'Eau" has docked on the Lateral Canal to the Marne and welcomes you in a beautiful green setting in Chalons-en-Champagne, 2 steps from the "Jards" (gardens).

You will be accommodated in a Freycinet type boat, built in 1914, converted into "chambres d'hôtes" labeled Gîtes de France and Clévacances with a capacity of 14 people in 5 comfortable rooms including 2 family rooms.
